2. How We Use Your Information

  • Personalization: Tailoring quiz recommendations, difficulty levels, and content to your interests and skill level.

  • Service improvement: Analyzing usage patterns to improve quiz quality, AI generation, and overall user experience.
  • Communication: Sending account-related notifications (such as password resets or important service updates) via Resend.
  • Credit system: Managing your quiz generation credits and tracking usage.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Topic9:

  • OpenRouter: Routes quiz and image generation requests to AI models. Your quiz topics are sent to AI providers for content generation.
  • Vercel: Hosts the Topic9 website and provides serverless functions, analytics, and edge network delivery.
  • MongoDB Atlas: Stores user accounts, quiz data, and learning progress in a secure cloud database.
  • Resend: Handles transactional emails such as account verification and notifications.
  • Google OAuth: Provides sign-in authentication. We receive your public profile information and email address from Google.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We only share data with the services listed above as required to operate the platform.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account data and quiz history for as long as your account remains active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, you can contact us at info@topic9.com and we will process the deletion within 30 days.

Anonymized, aggregated analytics data (such as total quizzes created per topic) may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked back to individual users.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • Right of access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
